to your new hometown, from its picturesque parks to its
celebrated hot dogs and now we're making it available

The guide was born out of frustration. Most Muhlenberg
students confine themselves to campus. The brave make it as
far as the strip malls off Cedar Crest Boulevard, but few
of us ever leave the West End. Downtown Allentown may as
well be in Jersey.
The book was first published in 2005. Two years later, it
was clear that the guide needed a face-lift. We’ve added
dozens of new restaurants and nightspots, and even moved
online (www.theallentownguide.com). It’s the best. Guide.
Ever. At least until our next edition.
We roamed the city—knocked down pins at the Rose Bowl and
indulged in the sinful desserts at the King George Inn—so
that you, too, would venture beyond the Red Doors.
